The Considered Palate is an independent publication. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or beholden to any manufacturer, retailer, distributor, or industry body.

Independence

All products reviewed are purchased at full retail price from publicly accessible retailers in Melbourne. We do not accept gifted products, samples, or promotional inventory. We do not attend launch events. We do not accept advertising.

If a conflict of interest were ever to arise, it would be disclosed prominently at the top of the relevant review.

Accuracy

We make every effort to ensure that product names, manufacturers, and countries of origin are reported correctly. Where packaging is in a language other than English, translations are sourced carefully. If an error is identified after publication, a correction will be issued without delay.

Fairness

A negative review is published only after the reviewer has made a genuine effort to engage with the product on its own terms. We do not review products we have not personally consumed. We do not review products consumed under adverse conditions — illness, distraction, extreme weather — without disclosing those conditions.

Where a product is found to be significantly below expectations, we remain open to the possibility of a compromised sample and will conduct a second independent tasting before publication.
